  • Shahrukh Khan doesn’t consider himself a big star

    Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan recently made a statement about him considering himself a small star and that the Cricket Championship League (CCL) doesn`t need a “smaller star” like him.

While speaking during the opening ceremony of a cricket championship Shahrukh Khan said, “I will be really honest… I am someone who believes professionalizing sports in this country is perhaps the most important aspect if I can any way get attached to it. I am happy that I am associated with it.”

According to SRK, he doesn’t have time to play cricket, “I personally wont get time to play cricket so I don`t think I will be attached to anything else but if it requires me. I think there are so many stars in CCL, I don`t think they need a smaller star like me.”

“Smaller star”?? Well, SRK is considered as the king of Bollywood. We wonder why the superstar doesn’t think the same about himself.

Just recently, Shahrukh’s arch rival Salman Khan had expressed his desire to to play cricket next year. Can this be one of the reasons why SRK doesn’t want to join the game??

Meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan feels there is no combination like sports and women. “You have to start somewhere and this is just the beginning slowly, it will spread to more places. Specifically if you ask me, then there is no combination like sports and women. I would be really happy if it went across and women participate in it,” he said.

  • Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol voted most romantic Bollywood couple in new poll

    Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol

A nation of movie lovers has spoken. Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have been voted the most romantic Bollywood screen couple in a poll conducted by Sanona™, the UK’s largest online Pay-Per-View Indian movie portal.

The stars of hit films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham beat off competition from onscreen couples from different decades. The poll that was conducted across social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, email and via the movie portal itself to coincide with Valentine’s Day.

Bollywood movie fans who voted the popular actors as their jodi number one, quoted the pair’s sizzling chemistry in the iconic romance, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), as one of the main reasons for their choice. In the film Shah Rukh and Kajol portray two Non-Resident Indians living in London who fall in love during a backpacking trip around Europe.

Other star onscreen couples who made it into the Top 10 included Raj Kapoor and Nargis, Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha and Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.

“There was somewhat of a gap between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, and the rest. This shows that they really have captivated the hearts of millions in the past twenty years since first coming together in Baazigar (1993).

Kajol recently admitted that although there is huge demand on her and Shah Rukh Khan to star in a movie together again, they wouldn’t be pressured into it. “I think I have said this 100 times, you need the right script and you need the right people. It can’t just be like let’s take Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan and make a film – there has to be something more, you know. I wouldn’t do a film just on that basis and I don’t think he would either,” said Kajol.

The biggest surprises in the Top 10 were Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra who have only been in two movies together and Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, who haven’t worked together since their 2003 film Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. Shah Rukh Khan showed he really is the king of romance as he was the only star that featured twice in the top 10, a second time with Rani Mukerji.
  • Meet SRK's New Red-Hot Item Girl

    Priyamani

National Award-winning southern actress Priyamani has worked in Hindi films earlier but in Rohit Shetty's "Chennai Express" she is doing her first ever item number.

The actress can't wait to shoot for it as it would allow her to meet Bollywood superstar and the film's lead actor Shah Rukh Khan.

"I am very excited. I am just waiting for the shoot to happen so that I get to meet Shah Rukh Khan and to shoot with him," Priyamani told.

The actress, who won the National Award for 2006 Tamil film "Paruthi Veeran", is doing an item song for the first time and said: "I have never done an item number. It is the first time and there is always a first time for everything."

With item numbers becoming a staple in Hindi movies and actresses like Katrina Kaif and Malaika Arora setting the benchmark, Priyamani, 28, is unperturbed about the competition.

"I am not scared. That is a completely different league. They are excellent in what they do, which is fantastic. I am not going to be scared to be branded," she confessed.

When it comes to playing lead roles in Hindi films, the actress, seen in "Raavan" and "Rakht Charitra", is very clear about what she wants.

"You need to see what kind of offers come your way. Just because it is Bollywood, doesn't mean that you have to take it. If something nice comes my way, I will take it up," she said.

"It has to be something substantial. I am not saying that I have to do films like 'The Dirty Picture' or 'Kahaani'. It could be something commercial as well," said the actress whose work down south also includes "Yamadonga", "Thirakkatha".

  • SRK made me wear Lungi: Deepika now wants Salman

    chennai express2

Hopefully, Deepika Padukone's 'lungi' and shirt look from 'Chennai Express' posters does not spark a trend but it has certainly made everyone do a double take.

The actress reveals that film's lead actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Rohit Shetty came up with the idea to dress her in a 'lungi'. "That's something new and I hope it works," says Deepika about her look.

"The idea to wear a 'lungi' is not mine actually. It was Shah Rukh and Rohit who came up with it. We had to quickly do a photoshoot because we were losing the light. They were like 'Why don't we give her this 'lungi' and make her look modern'. The shirt that I am wearing in the posters also belongs to SRK, only the sunglasses are mine," the actress told.

The potboiler, which reunites Deepika with SRK onscreen after her debut in 'Om Shanti Om', is slated to release this year. Deepika, fresh from the success of 'Race 2', is looking forward to back-to-back releases this year. "It has been a good year but my next next six months are very demanding in terms of my schedule.

I hope all the hard work pays. I have 'Chennai Express' and 'Kochadaiyaan' with Rajini (Rajinikanth) sir is also ready for release," says Deepika. She has two other films --'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', her film will Ranbik Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela'.

There were reports that she may star in Salman Khan's 'Kick' but the actress denies it. "That's all speculation. It probably stems from the fact that I had expressed a desire to work with Salman Khan. Maybe these stories are coming from there.
  • Shahrukh Khan’s Silent Treatment

There’s a lot of controversy doing rounds regarding Kamal Haasan’s Vishvaroopam. And everyone has something or the other to say about it. But what’s surprising is that Bollywood’s superstar Shahrukh Khan has nothing to say about it and when on a recent TV interview he was probed to give his views he said “I’m an actor. You speak to me about my films. You want to speak about serious issues, you get some serious people – not actor and actresses.”

Looks like Shahrukh’s feelings really got hurt when his article was picked up and a verbal war was waged between Indian and Pakistani’s ministers. Shahrukh Khan’s article was about his feelings on what it is like to be a Muslim in post 9/11 world and the politicians made a huge mess out of it. Being the sensible person he is, Shahrukh Khan later gave a statement stating , “I would like to tell all those who are offering me unsolicited advice that we in India are extremely safe and happy. We have an amazing democratic, free and secular way of life. In the environs that we live here in my country India, we have no safety issues regarding life or material.”

Lets hope that Shahrukh lets goes of these feelings and gets lively and sporty again.
