  • Sonam Kapoor to don bikini for YRF’s next


    Sonam Kapoor is all set to don the bikini avatar in Yash Raj Film’s next. Fashion icon Sonam agreed to shed her inhibitions and wear the bikini for a sequence in the film which would be similar to Kareena Kapoor’s in Tashan. We hear that Sonam has hit the gym to get into shape for the scene.

    According to reports, the 27-year-old has given a nod to slip into a two piece. However, it should not be a big apprehension as Sonam Kapoor has a stunning figure which would only be highlighted by being clad in a bikini.

    The Yash Raj banner has for years been associated with portraying actresses in never-seen-before avatars and looks like in Sonam’s case they are following suit. Also, it is a point to note that actresses, who had inhibitions in regard to a bikini have shed all doubts and gone ahead with it.

    It started with Zeenat Aman in the 1980 film Dostana. Then Juhi Chawla in Deewana Mastana followed by Esha Deol in Dhoom. Anushka Sharma too had sported a two-piece in Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl, Badmaash Company and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. We cannot forget Kareena Kapoor flaunting her size zero in Tashan.

    Let’s hope Sonam’s bikini act becomes as memorable as had all these films. Also, we wish Papa Anil Kapoor has no objections to his beti getting into this new avatar.

    Yes indeed, Sonam Kapoor AKA the ‘Fashionista’ of Bollywood has transformed her look in her upcoming film Ranjhanaa (co-starring Why This Kolaveri Di’s very own Dhanush!) in order to suit the character she’s playing.

    About Sonam’s new look, producer Krishika Lulla states, “Sonam has always been synonymous with runway fashion, but in Ranjhanaa we needed her to play a simple girl with middle-class ambitions. Her Indian look in films so far too has had a touch of international styling. However, in Ranjhanaa, she was professional and got into the character, whether it was donning a simple kurti or a uniform. She completely gave in and transformed into the character Zoya.”

    Ranjhanaa’s director is none other than Anand L. Rai (director of Tanu Weds Manu) and also features Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar (of Guzaarish and Tanu Weds Manu fame) and Deepak Dobriyal (of Omkara, Delhi-6, Tanu Weds Manu and Dabangg 2 fame). It features music by the ‘Mozart of Madras’, none other than Mr A.R. Rahman.
